Dance

In our class we are learning about dance,the dance element is body awareness, space and time. The ideas I like dancing to are shrinking and growing and also marching. Our dance we are making is about e-waste we had to write a paragraph talking about how our electronics become e-waste. What was hard for me to do was having to write 150 words or under.


What are electronic devices, they are things such as phones, computers and so much more. When we're done with our electronic devices we dump them and they become e-waste . What is e-waste you may ask, e-waste are electronic devices that have become obsolete or out of fashion or have just broke. The first thing that makes our electronic devices e-waste is when they are out of fashion. For example, I phone 4s were popular but now I phone 7s are out and I phone 4s are just out of fashion. Nobody wants them because they're not popular. Secondly when our devices become useless we throw them away. For example when they're useless you can't upgrade them. Lastly when our devices break we throw them in the dump my aunt kept dropping her phone until the phone completely broke she dumped it and bought a new one. This is how electronic devices become e-waste.

Short form division

This week we have been learning how to use the short form division strategy when solving two digit dividend that are over twelve. Our task was to tech others about short form division. I think we were successful because we had examples, videos and the steps on doing short form division.
  

Treasure Hunt?

WALT use variety of sentences types simple, compound, complex (Level 4 adverb beginning)

I know I was successful because I can use simple,compound and complex sentences in my writing.

Swoosh! Swoosh! I could hear the ocean. It was a Saturday Morning in the wonderful Mahinapua. My family and I were spending time with each other at the beach. We had big plans and I couldn't wait. I wanted to get started but it was just too early and cold.  Breakfast time came, we were having pancakes I said, “Yummy yummy for my tummy.” Hours later it was time for the fun to start.

I was having the time of my life riding on the jet ski. Do you love the feeling of wind going through your hair? I sure do. I was cruising on a jet ski with my cousin Deliam. My mum was on a jet ski and every time I would look at her she would fall off. My cousin Delia and I  were playing a game of tiggy my other cousins were chasing us. It took years for them to catch us. After that amazing game of tiggy we went water skiing. My mum went into the water for a swim. I was so nervous because I might of fall off and embarrassed myself but I really wanted to go on. It was finally my turn, I held on really really tight. I started moving and butterflies flew through my stomach. The speed started picking up and it got faster and faster. My fingers started slipping and I couldn't hold on. I tried to give a sign to slow down but they didn't see and then the unwanted moment came. Splash! I fell off.

Swoop! Swoop! I started freestyling to shore then I saw my mum on a donut drifting deep into sleep I turned around as quick as I could. I sneaked up, “Boo” I said. She didn't even hear me I started saying “wake up wake up” she woke up with a shock. I started splashing her she hopped out of her donut and started splashing me It was an awesome water fight. After that we went back to shore my mum dried herself. Then she started screaming, the whole world could hear her I went up to her and said, “What happened mum” she sadly said, “ I lost my gold ring.”  Ding! An idea popped to my head I said to my mum, “We could go on a treasure hunt.

The treasure hunt was on. We all took a plastic spade and started digging. I shouted out “ I'm going to find it first”. My cousin said, “Bring it on.” We were digging for hours and hours, the sun started going down. All we could see was the water. I was starting to fall asleep, and then I saw someone hold up a circle. Straight away I thought that is the ring “noooooooooooo” . I ran to get a torch and shined it on the person It was my cousin alisa. I said “dammit” We ran to my mum and said, “ Guess what?” she said, “ What?” Alisa said back “ I found your ring” her face lit up she gave her a big hug. My mum was so so so happy.

She put her ring back on,  her eyes opened wide and you could see the joy on her face The day sadly had to end I had a sensational day but also a frightening day. I still was a bit embarrassed from falling off the water ski.  I will never forget that day that my cousin found my mums gold ring that I fell off a water ski played tiggy on a jet ski.

Sentences

This week we have been learning about complex,compound and simple sentences. We had to make a DLO to share our learning and teach others. I know that I understand these sentences because I can use them in my writing. My next step will be to give more examples. Here is my DLO enjoy.

Don’t throw away, recycle for another day.

This term I have been learning to work collaboratively on an inquiry topic. My group decided to work together to create a movie that will encourage and persuade other people in my school to recycle their yoghurt containers. Here is the finished movie.
